Welcome the participants and ask each to introduce
themselves by stating their name and what type of program they represent.
Using O/H "Background" give a brief history of the inception of the Quality Indicators. Follow with the O/H "10 Indicators", mentioning that Indicator 10: Technology is currently in the developmental stages. Using O/H "Manual Layout" give a brief description of how the EQuIP Manual is laid out. Remember: Look for uncertainty in the eyes of the participants. Be cognizant of the fact that some participants may not understand. Look to the others to assist you in explaining. Once the Manual Layout is complete, hand out the matching exercise and give participants just a few minutes to compete. This reinforces the previous learning module. |

Depending on the size of the group and the time frame, decide if you will be completing a sample indicator or using the entire workbook. If you are conducting a brief workshop, divide the participants into groups where each Indicator is represented. Have each group (or person) complete the workbook for their chosen or assigned indicator. Once everyone is finished, put up the O/H "Target Special Populations." Let them know that each of these populations has their own workbook located right behind the EQuIP Manual. |
