WACE Satellite Video Conferences

Because of budget cuts and travel being seriously curtailed, ACE of Florida, Inc. and the Florida Department of Education, Division of Career and Adult Education, teamed together to provide satellite video conferences to communicate with local personnel around the state on high priority topics regarding adult and community education.  These highly successful video conferences have covered the following topics:

June 3, 2009 – “Adult Education in Florida:  A Report on 2008-2010 Activities”

November 13, 2009 – “Journey from Accountability to Program Improvement”

February 17, 2010 – “Adult Education Transitions”

The satellite video conferences are broadcast via the Florida Knowledge Network and the Florida Education Channel.  Each video conference is also streamed live via the web.

For each satellite video conference, “host” sites are established around the state where adult educators come together to view and discuss the video conference.  Many others view from their personal computers.  Participants watching the live broadcast have the opportunity to phone in or email questions for the presenters.  All power points and materials used by the presenters as well as questions and responses are posted on the ACE website and can be downloaded and printed.
